Unbridled Affections πŸ’–πŸŒΏ

Have you ever wanted something so badly it actually made you grumpy? πŸ™ƒ

Maybe it’s that perfect throw pillow you’ve been eyeing on Shopee or Amazon, a shiny new kitchen gadget, or let’s be real… just five minutes of peace and quiet in the bathroom without little fingers under the door πŸšͺπŸ‘Ά.

The funny thing is, the more we need something to make us happy, the more restless we feel. And when we finally get it? It doesn’t quite deliver the happiness we were promised. (Looking at you, impulse Target purchases. πŸŽ―πŸ˜‚)

Why “More” Doesn’t Equal Peace ✨

The world is always whispering: “If you just had this one thing, THEN you’d be happy.”
So we chase. And we scroll. And we fill carts.

But it’s kind of like eating chocolate when you’re really thirsty 🍫πŸ₯€ — it tastes good for a moment, but you’re still not satisfied.

When we live by chasing after every little desire, peace runs away faster than toddlers at bedtime. (And you know how fast that is! πŸƒ‍♀️πŸ’¨)

And here’s the kicker: when we give in to every craving, every impulse, or every “want it now!” moment, regret usually sneaks in right after. (Hello, buyer’s remorse, my old friend. πŸ‘‹)

The Real Secret 🌿

True peace isn’t about getting everything we want.

Peace comes from learning to loosen our grip on things and say: “Okay Lord, I’ll trust You first.”

This doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the good stuff God gives us. It just means we don’t have to cling so tightly that our joy depends on it. When God is in the center, the rest of life’s blessings are just sprinkles on top of the sundae. 🍦✨

Everyday Mom-Life Examples πŸ’

  • Saying “no” to scrolling online when we’re tired, and saying “yes” to a quick prayer instead.

  • Choosing to laugh at the spilled milk πŸ₯› (again) instead of losing our peace over it.

  • Letting go of the “perfect home” dream and enjoying the holy mess we live in. (Legos underfoot and all. 🧩)

That’s where the real freedom sneaks in. And with freedom comes peace.

A Simple Mom’s Prayer πŸ™

Lord, calm my restless heart.
When I cling too tightly to things, help me to let go.
When I chase after “more,” remind me that You are enough.
Fill me with the peace that doesn’t fade away. Amen.
πŸ’–

At the end of the day, peace doesn’t usually come from adding more to our lives.
It comes from letting go — of stuff, of expectations, of the little dramas we cling to.

And in that space, we find something sweeter, lighter, and far more lasting than anything on our wish list. 🌟
